Work Experience

Team Combat
Team Combat's website has been a large project of mine for some time. It has greatly deepened my knowledge about PHP and OOP in PHP. I have utilized jQuery / JavaScript and CSS to theme the site and do custom forms. I use very few pre-built frameworks to keep my codebase small and efficient.
I am the primary developer of the site and am developing memberships that are billed monthly, a waiver system, and the employee side where they can manage the customer base and check waivers. The system is built for each franchise location to manage their members and reservations.
I am currently the only technical support the company has and am working to get more staff trained to assist. I have also taken responsibility for Customer Experience and ensure that we deliver consistent entertainment through our staff at all times.

Indiana Botanic Gardens
Indiana Botanic Gardens is a natural health supplement company that is based in Hobart, IN. I was their Network Administrator for several months and delved in to additional software development with them as my time progressed. I left from my position with them to return to work for Team Combat as their franchising began to start and I was needed for software engineering.
Indiana Botanic Gardens saw my work as a software developer with work on their KPI graphing system in the warehouse, so they could see data on graphs live on TV monitors such as how many boxes per hour per user, and averages over the whole day were being shipped.
Another development project that is still in progress with Indiana Botanic Gardens is a larger systems integration product with their main sales software and a large 3rd party vendor that integrates other large vendors to our systems, allowing Indiana Botanic Gardens to sell product on many other vendor websites.
I brought many skills that I acquired from Team Combat and applied them to problems that Indiana Botanic Gardens had, such as their CRM, or phone systems.

Plum Grove Music
Plum Grove Music is a local music education business that sells and rents musical instruments as well as offers full service lessons for the instruments. All of the code behind the site has been written and maintained by myself with constant collaboration on content from many of their wonderful staff. As the needs of their business changes I do everything I can to help their site adapt and support their needs.

DMCS | Disaster Management Communication System

DMCS is a project of Professor Barbara Nicolai at Purdue University Northwest where I attend college. She has lead the development of a Windows-based application and database system that enables disaster response teams to manage resources and maintain communication throughout relief efforts after a disaster of any kind.
Professor Nicolai has put me and one other developer in charge of managing a team to re-write the application into PHP to attain a higher level of availability while maintaining the security of the system. That way, it can be utilized by the government with their strict standards on security.
